Top 5 reasons to do engagement pictures

1: They're awesome

Seriously, not many couples have pictures of just the two of them in good quality. Usually it's the couple at their home with a point-and-shoot camera with the bride holding it in the air. They're fun, but they hardly ever look great and they aren't really frame-able. This is the chance to get good shots of the two of you in a relaxed setting. Which brings me to my next point.

2: They're relaxed

Wedding day portraits are fine, but engagement pictures are so relaxed and fun. Plus, I rarely do engagement pictures on the weekend, so you'll get to take a day off work to spend with your fiance.

3: They show your true self

They're not super stiff posed, and you aren't wearing a $2,000 dress. Engagement pictures show who you really are. When couples ask me what they should wear to a session, I almost always say "your favorite outfit," because that outfit tells more about you than anything.

4: You'll get to know your photographer

This might be the most important point. Wedding days are hectic and the schedule is tight, but engagement sessions are slow paced and spread out. It gives the couple time to get comfortable in front of the photographer's camera.

5: The photographer will get to know you

I'll get to see your personality, your quirks and the things you like/don't like to do in pictures. This saves time on the wedding day.
