Alison and Luke

Wow! Alison and Lukes wedding Saturday was so awesome I just had to post it before the day was over. Saturday morning it rained at my place for about 5 minutes. It cleared up, leaving only random clouds to cover the sun. By Mid afternoon it was completely clear. All of the sudden as the reception started, clouds rolled in and gave us bucketloads of rain. The power even went out at one point and candles provided reception lighting.

This was one bad group of dudes. They robbed a bank on the way to the wedding and perhaps stole someone's grandchildren. Don't worry. I got plenty of smile pictures.

Ringshot #1 (EDIT: Some of you have asked if this shot was photoshopped. Nope. If you backlight a ring with a harsh light, like a flash head, then the ring's shadow makes a heart. The only editing was the black and white conversion)

After the ceremony I took Alison and Luke outside to get some casual portraits. Right when we finished up it started to thunder.

Mmmmm. Lavender reception details make photographers smile.

Even the flatwear got all jazzed up.

Hmmm, this girl looks familiar. Oh yeah! I shot her wedding at the same church about 3 months ago.

The power outage was a unique opportunity to try some candlelight-only photos. My assistant and I had fun and got some really cool shots. (by the way, the power was back on in this shot, but the overhead lights were still warming up)

Blingshot #2:

Sometimes at weddings, boquets are thrown. Sometimes they are caught. This was not an example of that.

This little guy had the very important task of finding a bag of some sort. He was very excited.

Storytime: The next sequence of pictures shows groomsmen conspiring against the bride and the groom. Here's how it went down. When Luke and Alison exited the church, Luke's brother gave him a big hug while Alison was rushed off in the rain in a truck of some sort. The truck drove around the block a few times before reappearing. It was all good fun.
