I'm so glad you all are spending your insanely precious time surfing my blog.

Instead of going off on some tangent, I'll just say that Wedding photography is what I specialize in. I love it and I don't have plans to do anything else.

I specialize in a non-traditional, unfettered style of wedding photography. I firmly believe that wedding photography doesn't have to be boring or lame.

On this blog you will find my latest weddings, engagements and bridal sessions, as well as random personal information and pictures I take on a day-to-day basis.

Thanks for coming by!

See you at the altar

My good friend Vanessa McKellar does these awesome "love story" videos where she interviews her brides and grooms before the wedding about their backstory. It's sort of like the video version of an engagement session. After watching these videos you really feel like you know the couple. Bring the Kleenex.

This is good for two reasons. I usually see a lot of slideshows at weddings. The pictures show the B+G growing up in separate lives, with hardly any photos of the couple actually together. "Oh look, there's Jane's senior Picture. Oh, and there's John smashing cake in his face at his 3rd birthday party." These photos rarely say anything about the couple. The Love Story videos are a great replacement for reception sildeshows.

But maybe more importantly, 90 percent of the guests at your wedding have no idea who the other person is. They saw you grow up, but don't have a clue about your fiance. Sure, your parents and maybe grandparents know him or her, but your great aunts and grade school friends don't. These videos are perfect to intoduce your fiance to your extended family and long lost friends.

Behind the scenes

I hate posting pictures of myself. Really. I look like a dork. A dork with a camera, which increases my dorkyness exponentially (Dork x 1025). My assistant, Brantley, took enough photos of me to make my own album. A few of them are viewable enough to make me not cringe so much.

Whomever can come up with the most creative and hilarious caption for any one of the following pictures gets a $10 Starbucks gift card care of Allen Arrick Photography (that would be me).

RULES: You have to post your comment on this website in the comment section of this post. Please include your name and email address (otherwise I cannot contact you). Be funny. Tell me what picture you're talking about.

I'll start with reference from the Hangover.

By the way, it's not a purse, it's a satchel. Actually it's a shootsac.

Shooting this photo, and this photo.

Shooting this photo.

Candice and Jonathan get married

Disclaimer: This post cannot be held responsible for computer crashes, face melting, general giddyness or eye seizures. Before you are 47 images. That's right, not counting the side-by-side verticals, which would put it over 50. It is entirely the biggest post in the 5 year history of Allen Arrick Photography. You've been warned.

Candice and Jonathan were married Saturday at a trendy hipster spot in Dallas called "Bubble." I have no idea what the name means, but it should have said "Plain white building surrounded by awesome."

My assistant, Brantley, took a few of these photos. http://www.brantley.ws/

A few post-ceremony congrats:

Awesome reception details:

The venue had this awesome stark white wall which made the perfect makeshift photo booth. Then this guy stole the show.

Alison - Bridal

You might remember Alison from Autumn's wedding a few months back. She caught the boquet. Alison is marrying Autumn's brother, Luke. Consequently, Alison was a bridesmaid at Autumn's wedding, and Autumn will be one at hers. Whew! Try keeping that one straight in your head.

Anyway, we had an awesome bridal session today at Lindsey Park and Downtown Tyler. Have a look!
